Project Overview

United Marine Underwriters (UMU) is a small boat and watercraft insurance agency headquartered in La Grange, KY. When I first joined DBS Interactive in 2010, UMU had been a client for many years and they were already very successful in search. Despite their competition (Geico, Progressive, BoatUS) having much deeper pockets, a thoughtfully executed SEO strategy had positioned United Marine Underwriters at the top of SERPs for some of the most challenging and expensive search terms in any industry.

To maintain their website’s rankings and continue to build brand awareness, we needed to cast a large net with engaging content and hope that our efforts resulted in us catching a steady supply of backlinks.
